Endless Flooring provides specialist wood floor refinishing services across Auckland, expertly transforming the color, tone, and protective coating of your native timber floors.

While sanding removes the damage, refinishing is the art of bringing the wood to life. Once a floor has been expertly prepared using our dust-free system, the application of the right finish determines the final aesthetic and durability of your home. From ultra-modern Scandinavian blonding to rich, heritage stain matching, Endless Flooring utilises over five decades of technical finishing experience to deliver showroom-quality results that protect your investment for years to come.
Our finishing team provides a complete range of modern and traditional aesthetic transformations for residential and commercial wooden floors.
Timber Floor Blonding (Whitewashing): We apply specialised lightening treatments to neutralise the heavy yellows and reds found in species like Rimu and Pine, creating a bright, modern, and spacious coastal aesthetic.
Wood Floor Staining: Whether you want to achieve a rich, dark walnut tone or need to seamlessly match new floorboards to existing heritage timber, our custom staining process ensures deep, even colour penetration without masking the natural grain.
Polyurethane Floor Coating: We apply commercial-grade 3-coat polyurethane systems. Clients can choose between eco-friendly water-based polyurethanes (for a clear, non-yellowing finish) or traditional solvent-based polyurethanes (for maximum hardness and a warm, golden amber glow).
Natural Oil & Hardwax Finishes: For those seeking a highly tactile, ultra-matte finish, we apply premium penetrating oils that nourish the wood from within, allowing you to feel the natural texture of the grain underfoot.
Note: All full refinishing and colour-change services require the floor to be sanded back to raw timber.

Not every dull floor requires a full restoration. Endless Flooring provides cost-effective re-glazing and maintenance coats to extend the life of your existing finish.
If your wooden floor has lost its shine or developed superficial surface scratching, a complete re-sand may not be necessary. Our Timber Floor Re-Glazing service involves lightly "screening" (buffing) the top layer of your existing polyurethane to create a mechanical bond, followed by the application of a fresh topcoat. This process restores the protective barrier and original luster at a fraction of the cost and time of a full restoration.

Yes. By completely sanding away the old finish back to raw timber, we can apply custom wood floor staining to darken the wood, or timber floor blonding treatments to significantly lighten the space.
Water-based polyurethane is highly popular because it is fast-drying, eco-friendly, low-odor, and remains crystal clear without yellowing the wood over time. Solvent-based polyurethane has a stronger odor during application and longer drying times, but it is exceptionally durable and imparts a traditional "amber" or golden warmth to the timber.
To avoid wearing completely through the protective polyurethane layer to the raw wood (which necessitates a full, expensive re-sand), we recommend a maintenance re-glaze or re-coat every 5 to 7 years for standard residential traffic.
